Our ZERO Water Waste ambition was established in our preceding ESG programme, Together Towards ZERO (TTZ). With the evolution of the programme to Together Towards ZERO and Beyond (TTZAB), we have sharpened our ambition level and introduced additional targets and activities, as well as new milestones towards 2030.
We will continue on the path set forth in our Together Towards ZERO programme with yearly improvements in water efficiency and an industry-leading global target of 2.0 hl/hl in water usage, while maintaining our 1.7 hl/hl target for breweries in areas of high water risk. At breweries in these high-risk areas, we will go Beyond by introducing a new target to replenish 100% of the water consumed at these breweries.

Installing new technologies at our breweries to improve water use efficiency and minimize water waste (e.g. through leaks)
Sharing best practices across breweries regarding maintenance processes and workforce training
Cleaning and reusing wastewater in an increasing number of selected breweries
Working with expert partners, NGOs and communities to replenish natural water sources in high-risk areas
In 2021, the Huda brand launched five additional projects focused on securing and stabilising community water sources. Together with the projects run over the previous two years, these will provide around 27,000 people with access to clean water.
At our Fredericia brewery, Denmark, we are constructing a state-of-the-art water-recycling plant to reuse 90% of process wastewater – a result of a public-private partnership with DRIP.
