Carlsberg Azerbaijan and Chef Alex revealed secrets of food pairing

On August 7, all the progressive humanity celebrates the International Beer Day — an annual unofficial holiday that is hold on the first Friday of August. In this regard, last weekend, the Carlsberg Azerbaijan brewery in cooperation with Chef Alex, the brand-chief of the Saffron hotel chain, held a food pairing for media representatives. Food pairing is a relatively new trend in gastro-culture, which allows to expand the boundaries of taste and select innovative methods of combining products, various dishes and drinks, based on their aroma and taste.

In order to comply with the requirements of the quarantine regime in the country, the event was held in an online format: dishes from the Chef and several beers from the Carlsberg Azerbaijan portfolio were pre-delivered to the media representatives. During the event Vugar Akhmedov, a representative of Carlsberg Azerbaijan, spoke about the features of each beer and the principles of combining the beer with food, and Chef Alex shared the secrets of preparing snacks and hot dishes for these varieties.

So, the classic Xırdalan and Carlsberg varieties were delivered to the guests with barbecue wings presented with special sauce from the Chef, the unfiltered Xırdalan and Carlsberg varieties were delivered with trout fish chips, Baltika 9 was delivered with chopped Asian style chicken fillet, the Kuler beer was offered with cheese aranchini and Krounenbourg Blanc 1664 was delivered with tiger prawns and vegetables.

In addition, the online event guests were presented a new product of this season – Baltika 0 Raspberry, which successfully combines natural raspberry juice, vitamin premix and non-alcoholic beer.

The high quality beers and carefully selected dishes created a unique harmony of tastes and were highly appreciated by the media representatives.
